(Napa Valley)

In 1862, Jacob and Annie Schram established Schramsberg as the first winery on the hillsides of Napa Valley, on Mount Diamond, a few miles South of Calistoga. Jack and Jamie Davies established Schramsberg Vineyards as a sparkling wine estate in 1965 setting out to make sparkling wine in the true méthode champenoise style.   In 1972 in Beijing, China, President Richard Nixon and Premier Chou En-Lai raised their glasses in a toast to peace with Schramsberg 1969 Blanc de Blancs.

schramsberg Mirabelle

SCHRAMSBERG Mirabelle Brut

“This Mirabelle bottling combines the bright, vibrant fruit of the 2004 vintage with the richness and depth of vintages past. Complete with green apple and jasmine fragrance, filled out by tropical fruit notes, the attractive aromas greet you from the glass. The bright citrus entry on the palate gives way to subtle honey and caramel, with just a hint of fresh cream to balance the zesty acidity on the finish.”

SCHRAMSBERG Blanc de Blancs 2013

“The 2013 Blanc de Blancs has bright and fresh aromas of grapefruit, mango, apricot, lemon, and white peach. The fruitful fragrance intermingles with hints of fresh bread, vanilla cream pie, and rose petals. Freshly sliced Gravenstein apples, zesty citrus, and bright pineapple flavors carry vibrant length on the palate.”

SCHRAMSBERG J. Schram 2007

 Robert Parker – 94+ points

"Another stunner is the 2007 J. Schram, which is roughly 84% Chardonnay and the rest Pinot Noir with about 35% barrel-fermentation and the balance in stainless steel. This shows loads of honeyed tropical fruit such as pineapple and mango, a touch of white peach, beautiful body, wonderful pinpoint bubbles that are persistent, and a dry, crisp, long finish. This was disgorged in March 2015, so it spent nearly eight years on its lees. Drink it over the next 5-10 years, if not longer."
